Grid-Connected Microgrid for Industrial Park in Vietnam

A medium-sized industrial park in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam gathers dozens of manufacturing enterprises, with large and concentrated power demand. The local public power grid is unstable, with frequent power outages and voltage fluctuations, which seriously affect the normal production of enterprises and lead to economic losses. High peak electricity prices also increase the operation costs of enterprises. The industrial park management needs a grid-connected microgrid solution that can ensure stable power supply, reduce energy costs and improve energy utilization efficiency.
Location/Time: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, April 2025
Configuration: PCS: 700kW, BAT: 1800kWh, PV: 800kW
Load: Production machinery, factory lighting, air conditioning systems, warehouse ventilation, office equipment, emergency power supply
Operating environment: Urban industrial park, high temperature, high humidity, heavy rainfall, stable but large power load, high requirement for power supply stability
Operating modes: Grid-connected operation, solar energy priority, energy storage system for peak shaving and valley filling, storing electricity during grid valley hours and supplying power during peak hours, reducing peak electricity costs; switching to off-grid mode automatically in case of grid outage to ensure continuous production.
The system adopts waterproof, moisture-proof and corrosion-resistant design, suitable for the high-humidity environment of Vietnam. It is equipped with an intelligent dispatching system, which can reasonably distribute power between solar energy, energy storage and public grid, optimizing energy structure. The modular design facilitates later expansion according to the increasing power demand of the industrial park.
After the system is put into use, the industrial park has completely solved the problem of grid instability. The annual energy cost of enterprises in the park has been reduced by 50%, and the power supply reliability has reached 99.9%. The solution not only reduces the operation burden of enterprises but also promotes the green transformation of the industrial park, becoming a benchmark for intelligent energy management of industrial parks in the region.
