An agricultural processing farm in northern Zambia mainly engages in grain drying and fruit processing. The farm is located in a remote area with no public power grid coverage. It used to rely on small diesel generators for power supply, which had low power, unstable operation, and high fuel consumption, resulting in low processing efficiency and high product costs. The customer urgently needs a high-power, stable and low-cost off-grid power supply solution to support the operation of processing equipment and improve production efficiency.
Location/Time: Northern Zambia, November 2024
Configuration: PCS: 400kW, BAT: 1000kWh, PV: 300kW, Diesel Generator: 200kW (backup)
Load: Grain drying equipment, fruit sorting and processing machinery, packaging equipment, storage ventilation systems, farm daily electricity
Operating environment: Remote rural area, high temperature, strong sunshine, large dust
Operating modes: Off-grid operation, solar energy priority, energy storage system for peak load regulation and continuous power supply, diesel generator starts automatically when the power demand of processing equipment reaches the peak or in continuous rainy weather to ensure uninterrupted production.
The system adopts a high-power integrated design, with strong load-bearing capacity, which can meet the high-power demand of processing equipment. It is equipped with a dust-proof and shock-proof shell, which can adapt to the dusty environment of the processing farm and reduce the frequency of equipment maintenance. The intelligent dispatching system can reasonably distribute power according to the operation status of different processing equipment, avoiding energy waste.
This solution has effectively solved the power supply problem of the agricultural processing farm, increased the processing efficiency by 35%, reduced the fuel cost by 55% annually, and reduced the product processing cost. At the same time, the clean energy supply has reduced environmental pollution, improved the competitiveness of the farm’s products, and laid a solid foundation for the farm’s long-term development.
